If you are feeling lost about getting started, intimidated by web design etc one very easy
method is to create a free blog at blogger. Because blogger is owned by google it is
crawled often and you can get in search engines. It also makes an automatic rss feed you can submit
to blog directories easily. Plus people go to blogger and click next to look at blogs and yours
can come up (I am surprised at how many people do this!). It is quick to make a one page site with them and then whenever you want just add some content. You can read more here:

I have been trying to write 10 articles weekly to submit to both directories and e-mail to
webmasters to publish. This is a great way to get backlinks to your site or blog. But the
tip I learned from this book is so great-to give the webmaster an incentive to publish your
